Key messages
After a highly successful kick-off at Milan’s Fa’ la Cosa Giusta! fair in Milan in March, our travelling exhibition continues its Italian tour with Matera, Italy, where the inner cloister of the Museo de Palazzo Lanfranchi provides a fitting setting to host this interactive, thought-provoking display.
The exhibition is held within the framework of Europe Week and coincides with Europe Day on May 9. Matera has a wealth of activities planned to celebrate the week, including film screenings, workshops, exhibitions, debates and more. The city aims to celebrate European values and the opportunities the EU offers while also stimulating reflection on the goals and critical issues facing citizens and member states.
With this in mind, the MAIA project’s travelling exhibition fits perfectly with the themes. Structured around thematic panels, it explores the multidisciplinary approach to climate change mitigation and adaptation, connecting research, environmental policies and local initiatives.
Crucially, there is a strong focus is on solutions, citizen empowerment and the need to combat misinformation and disinformation around climate change. The aim is raise awareness of climate challenges and promotes concrete solutions by combining science, art and education
The exhibition is open to the general public, and members of the MAIA project will be on hand to present it to visitors. The grand opening takes place on May 5, 17:00-19:00, after which visitors can access the exhibition during Museum opening hours.
