Key messages
The I-CHANGE project will hold its final scientific event on during the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly in Vienna.
Over the past four years, I-CHANGE has put citizens at the heart of climate action, showing that informed and empowered communities can drive meaningful behavioural change. By blending citizen participation, innovative technology, and scientific collaboration, I-CHANGE has encouraged people to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.
The event will present the project’s main outcomes and showcase results from eight Living Labs, which served as hubs for environmental monitoring and community engagement. These labs have highlighted how citizens can observe and reduce their environmental impacts.
The event will also feature presentations of scientific findings, technological tools, and activities designed to raise climate change awareness and promote participatory science.
Speakers from related projects will also share their experiences, and there will be discussions about how data collected by citizens can support scientific research and help build a more sustainable future.
Additionally, on May 1, 2025, I-CHANGE results will be highlighted in an EGU session focused on engaging citizens in understanding urban climate and climate change risks through participatory science.
