MAIA teams up with the House of the Italians
The MAIA project has partnered with Casa degli Italiani di Barcellona, a historic institution and central reference point for the Italian community in the city, to organise one of its exhibitions on climate change. This time, as well as Drivers of Change, and collaborations with artists, we will hold an additional exhibition on fake news and misinformation, and their direct connection to the psychological and communication factors that shape how societies confront climate change. This exhibition showcases the work of several artists and creators, each contributing a dedicated piece reflecting on this critical issue.
Founded to promote Italian culture and social connection abroad, Casa degli Italiani is known for its continuous organization of cultural, social, and networking events that engage a wide and diverse audience.
By hosting the MAIA exhibition and actively involving its membership network, the institution provided an ideal setting for strengthening dialogue on climate change and encouraging intercultural exchange around sustainability issues. This collaboration allows the exhibition to reach both the Italian expatriate community and the broader local public in Barcelona, amplifying the visibility and impact of MAIA’s communication and outreach strategy.
The association has requested to keep the exhibition open until November as they manage the Italian schools in Barcelona in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, and has proposed promoting the exhibition among students and families.
There are more than 53,000 Italians living in Barcelona, making them the largest foreign community in the city. Thus, this collaboration has the potential to achieve significant engagement of the target audience.
