CityCLIM project to hold final stakeholder workshop, September 12, 2024
The CityCLIM project is coming to a close in September, 2024, and will hold its final online stakeholder workshop on September 12.
In a world of changing environmental conditions, sustainable and effective urban adaptation strategies are increasingly crucial. Developing these requires accessible technical solutions that support informed decision-making for city planning.
Therefore, key CityCLIM capabilities have included the acquisition, management, processing, and presentation of application-specific geodata.
This final workshop is open to anyone interested in or working on tangible solutions to improve the habitability of cities under climate change. Attendees will get to see the advanced prototypes of CityCLIM services which have been developed to support citizens and city administration in coping with urban heat and pollution:
- Climate information services: Information on heat waves and pollution for the next 2 days based on a 100m-resolution advanced weather model.
- Identification services: Identification of urban heat islands, city airflow and pollution. Area
- Simulation and mitigation strategies services: Services focussing on urban heat, airflow and pollution where users can simulate scenarios.
- Citizen weather sensation service: a map view where users indicate their comfort temperature ranges to identify comfortable places in the city
