Knowledge tools

MAIA works to improve knowledge sharing, break down information silos, and avoid redundant or duplicated climate research.

Connecting the dots between climate change knowledge.

Drowning in fragmented climate change information? Struggling to find relevant, up-to-date resources? Worried about repeating past work instead of building on it?

Introducing the MAIA Connectivity Hub, an advanced search-and-discovery tool to access climate change resources.

Access a vast library of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. knowledge–and the organisations producing it, including CORDIS – EU research results.

Get insights to inform research, practice, policy, planning, and more.

Learn from others and gain new perspectives to inform your work.

Break down collaboration and information silos.es the interoperability and connectivity of online data and knowledge.

How it works

  • Curated glossary of cross-domain adaptation and mitigation terminology.
  • AI-powered tagging for improved content discovery.
  • Fine-tuned searches using relevant keywords.
  • Enhanced filters to improve search.
  • We’ll also visualise new datasets from other online platforms for climate action. If you would like to be a part of the Connectivity Hub, please

Harnessing data and opening new venues to turn research into action

Climate Change Taxonomy

Promoting shared understanding through a common language.

Shared terminologies make it easier to connect and search databases. This fosters a common understanding of terms and concepts, improving communication and collaboration.

Our climate change adaptation and mitigation taxonomy has been curated through the MAIA project and is embedded in the Connectivity Hub. This enables fine-tuned searches for climate change research and action using a common set of keywords (taxonomies) from external platforms like CORDIS – EU research results.

As the MAIA project progresses, we’ll further develop the taxonomy with definitions and scope notes. These are verified and validated with domain and community experts.

MAIA encourages the broad use of a common climate taxonomy, so we’ve made it open access. That means anyone can download and use it on their platforms. This enhances the interoperability and connectivity of online data and knowledge.

SummarAIse

Work smarter, not harder to manage climate change information.

Tackling climate change requires easily accessible, well-classified information. But manually summarising documents and identifying relevant classification keywords is time-consuming and prone to errors.

Our AI-powered vocabulary-extraction and document-summary tool does the heavy lifting for you, sifting through vast amounts of data to deliver the most relevant insights.

  • Tags content with relevant terms from one or more controlled vocabularies
  • Extracts knowledge from documents by answering predefined questions.
  • Drastically reduces the time and effort involved in discovering and cross-correlating published information on climate change.

Following launch in 2024, SummarAIse will be integrated with the MAIA Marketplace and Climate Change Mitigation portal. This will allow us to showcase the potential to transform information from document repositories like CORDIS into actionable content, tailored for your target audience.

Climate Change Mitigation Portal

Connecting climate change knowledge to empower action.

Tired of sifting through countless websites to stay updated with climate change mitigation and adaptation?

More than just another blog, the EU Climate Change Mitigation Portal (CCM) is a dynamic knowledge hub that offers:

  • Up-to-date, relevant content curated from trusted sources like CORDIS and weAdapt.
  • A comprehensive collection of Horizon Europe climate projects.
  • Automated knowledge extraction and generation (in development) to speed up content creation.

The CCM makes content more accessible to diverse audiences. From scientists looking for the latest research to policymakers seeking reliable data. Even engaged citizens who want to stay informed.

Everything you need to stay ahead of the climate curve—all in one place.
