The MAIA project connects communities, platforms, knowledge, and research on climate change.

The MAIA project answers the following needs and challenges identified by the European Commission:

Limited reach

EU-funded climate change projects aren’t well connected, resulting in limited reach, diffusion, and exploitation.

Lack of visibility

The visibility of project outputs often declines significantly once the project ends

Reduced impact

Lack of realistic business cases has limited the impact and cost-effectiveness of previous programmes.

All this limits the impact of climate change research—and our ability to respond to threats and take advantage of opportunities.

At the same time, there’s growing public demand for reliable scientific information: Citizens, policymakers, and organisations need access to insights from EU-funded climate projects to inform decision-making, actions, and behaviours.

But it’s harder than ever to cut through the noise and misinformation and find what you need among multiple disconnected platforms, channels, and sources.
