About

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), a lead partner of the Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI), is hosting the webinar Learning opportunities for all: Strengthening forest data for better reporting.” The webinar is developed as a part of the Accelerating Innovative Monitoring for Forests (AIM4Forests) programme and the “Building global capacity to increase transparency in the forest sector (CBIT-Forest)” project.

For this webinar, viewers can look forward to a presentation on the FAO eLearning Academy series of courses “Forest Monitoring for Climate Action”, including the results from the recently delivered National Forest Inventory (NFI) online facilitated course. The series of courses are developed jointly with the FAO eLearning Academy and FAO’s Forestry Division. It is freely available in multiple languages to anyone who wants to strengthen their technical and institutional capacities on forest data for better reporting. The interactive webinar will include testimonials from government representatives, academia and other stakeholder groups on the use of the e-learning materials in their daily work.
